U1 Group (U1) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the use and protection of personal information collected by U1. It applies to any personal information you provide to U1 directly, or indirectly through our recruitment partners. This Privacy Policy also details how you can get in touch with U1 regarding the use and disclosure of that information, and how we safeguard your privacy. We adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 in relation to the collection, use, storage, disclosure and removal of your personal information. We are individual members and a company partner of The Research Society, Australia’s peak body for market, social and opinion research and we comply with The Research Society’s Code of Professional Behaviour.
2/ Collection of personal information
Through the provision of our research services (i.e. surveys, interviews and workshops) we collect personal information of individuals participating in research. The type of information we may collect and hold include age, gender, occupation, personal experiences, opinions and preferences. We may also collect sensitive information such as, but not limited to, financial circumstances, health and lived experiences. Our recruitment partners, and in some instances clients, may provide personal information such as name, telephone number, email address and postcode for the purpose of participant recruitment. The provision and storage of this type of information will always be in accordance with relevant legislation, professional standards and privacy policy.
3/ Use of personal information
We use personal information for the primary purpose for which it is collected and only in accordance with this policy. Personal information captured as a result of research participation is reported to clients in aggregate and de-identified fashion. We will not disclose any personally identifiable information without express prior consent and we will never use or disclose personal information for the purpose of advertising, promotions or direct marketing activities. We may invite our clients to observe research sessions, however this will never be done without research participants’ prior knowledge and consent.
4/ Security of personal information
Any personal information held by U1 Group is stored securely with appropriate security protection and procedures in place. Personal information is only retained for as long as is required, or relevant, for the purpose of its collection. Once personal information held by U1 Group is no longer required it is destroyed.
5/ Access and correction
We take all reasonable steps to ensure all personal information held is up to date and accurate. If you believe any personal information held by U1 Group is out of date or inaccurate you can ask us to amend it. If you wish to access details of personal information held by U1 Group, please contact us with your request. We undertake to respond within a reasonable timeframe and provide you with a copy of the requested information. 6/ Complaints

7/ Changes to this policy
U1 Group will change and update this Privacy Policy as required. Any such changes will occur without notice and will take effect immediately. As such, consider reviewing this policy from time to time to understand how we collect, store and use personal information. Any changes to this policy will ensure continued adherence to the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012.
